Venue

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a small town in Bavaria, located about 100km south of Munich. It is beautifully situated in the Bavarian Alps, with Germany's highest mountain, the famous Zugspitze, nearby. The town is known as the site of the 1936 Winter Olympic Games, the first to include alpine skiing, and offers a broad variety of summer and winter sports activities.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is best reached via Munich Airport and a subsequent 1.5 hour train ride from Munich Central Station.

Arrival by plane / train

The nearest airports are:

Option 1: Munich Airport (MUC) approx. 145 km

• From MUC Airport with the S-Bahn to MUC main station

• from MUC main station to Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GAP) station by train (every hour), travel time approx. 1.5 hours.

• Suitable connections can be found at: https://www.bahn.de

Option 2: Innsbruck Airport (INN-Austria) approx. 65 km

• From Innsbruck Airport take bus line F or taxi to Innsbruck main station (journey time 18 minutes)

• Innsbruck main station with train to Garmisch-Partenkirchen station (every 2 hours), travel time: approx. 1.5 hours.

Arrival by car

From Munich:

• Follow the A95 to the end of the Eschenlohe motorway - from there continue on the B2 towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen

• You pass the town of Oberau and the bypass tunnel in Farchant

• At the junction, head towards the Partenkirchen district - stay on the main road and follow the signs for Partenkirchen, Mittenwald, Innsbruck.

• Shortly before the end of the town, the Dorint Sporthotel Garmisch-Partenkirchen is on the left on a small hill.

• Parking in the hotel: €11 per night
